I have not seen any of the previous versions. Lady Gaga is so so good! Bradley Cooper is also very good and is a great director. Since this isn't an original screen play I don't know how much effort he had to put in. I like the jabs at Pop music especially when it is Lady Gaga singing it. There was serious on screen chemistry.
The movie also deals with alcoholism and addiction. They are a disease and this movie really shows how devastating they can be and the ways people try to hide their disease.
Go see it at the theater with the best sound system you know.
